Common questions
What happens in the trial?
Every new subscription starts with a 14-day trial of everything in Core, across all of its seats. A card is taken at the start through Stripe, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
How are seats counted?
One seat per person who can sign in, with a minimum of one. The subscription follows your seat count: add a person and a seat is added, remove one and it is removed. Clients you act for are not seats: one seat can work across every client file.
Why is it cheaper than a research library or an AI research tool?
The price follows from how the answer is made. A library sells commentary written and kept current by people, and an AI research tool spends model time on every question; TobyAI works the figure in code from the held source, so a question costs almost nothing to answer however many times it is asked, and nothing is metered. Those tools do things TobyAI does not, such as drafting advice or case-law research; the price reflects what each is built to do.
What happens as new coverage is released?
Fringe benefits tax and the wider regulatory coverage follow between 1 October and 31 December 2026 (the order). Each later area is offered as its own bundle, priced when released. A customer who already has Core keeps what it included when they joined.
Is the assistant metered?
No. The figures are calculated by TobyAI itself and are never metered; the plain-language explanations are included under fair use. If a seat's use is far outside normal use for a practice or business we will write to you before anything changes.
How does the annual price work?
$637 for the first seat and $270 for each additional seat covers twelve months, which is ten per cent less than paying monthly. You choose monthly or annual at checkout. To move between them later, write to hello@tobyai.io and we change it at the next renewal.
Who holds my card details?
Stripe handles it. TobyAI never sees your card number.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time in the billing portal. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and the free health check stays available afterwards. The record of what you ran stays in your account.
